Design Rooted in Craft.
Guided by the Way You Live.
Buttercup Kitchen & Bath is a full-service kitchen and bath design studio based in Evergreen, CO — where timeless design meets a process that actually feels as good as it looks.
Built for Homeowners Who Want More Than a Pretty Room.
At Buttercup Kitchen & Bath, we believe a well-designed home isn’t just something you look at, it’s something you feel every time you walk in the door. Our work begins with a single question: how do you actually want to live in this space?
From there, we build a design that answers it. We partner closely with each client to define their vision, then guide every decision — cabinetry, countertops, tile, plumbing, lighting, hardware — with clarity and intention. Through photorealistic 3D visualization, you’ll see your new space come to life before a single cabinet is ordered, so every choice feels confident rather than hopeful.
We work with a curated network of cabinetry manufacturers and have established vendor accounts for materials across every category, which means you’re not left piecing things together on your own. We do that for you. From the first conversation to the final walkthrough, we’re with you every step of the way.
We’re based in Evergreen and proudly serve homeowners throughout the Colorado foothills; from Conifer and Kittredge to Golden, Idaho Springs, and everywhere in between.
“Our clients don’t just end up with a beautiful kitchen. They end up with a home that finally feels like theirs.”
What We Believe About Good Design.
Form follows how you live.
A beautiful space that doesn’t work for your life isn’t a well-designed space. We start with function and let beauty grow from there.
Clarity is a gift.
Renovations are complicated. Our job is to make them feel manageable, breaking the process into clear phases so you know what’s coming next.
Details are where design happens.
The hardware you almost skipped. The tile grout color. The placement of a single pendant. We care about all of it, because our clients will feel all of it.
Timeless outlasts trendy, every time.
We don’t design for the moment. We design for the decade with spaces that feel current today and still feel right ten years from now.
“I want every client to feel like their home was designed for them. Because it was.”
Sarah Haverkamp
Owner & Designer, Buttercup Kitchen & Bath
Sarah didn’t set out to become a kitchen designer. She set out to understand how things are made and why some of them last.
Growing up in Philadelphia, surrounded by old suburban farmhouses and the historic brownstones of Center City, she developed an early and enduring appreciation for spaces built with intention. The kind of homes that feel rooted and like they belong exactly where they are.
That instinct led her to study industrial design, where she learned to think about objects and eventually spaces from the inside out. Equal weight on form and function. Every detail considered. After graduating, she channeled that engineering-focused mindset into product design at Calphalon, where kitchens became her world. Not just as a design challenge, but as the room where everything that matters tends to happen.
She founded Buttercup Kitchen & Bath to bring that same precision and warmth to homeowners who deserve both. The technical rigor of an industrial designer. The personal attention of a studio that genuinely cares how your home feels to live in.
Sarah is always learning, honing her craft, staying ahead of materials and methods, and finding new ways to solve the complex problems that make renovation worth getting right.
When she’s not deep in a design, you’ll find her cozying up with a good book, or with her family playing games or camping accented by the warm glow of candlelight or campfire.
Our Team
Avery Ballow, Designer
Avery’s love for design began while observing her dad as a GC growing up. Tagging along to job sites, listening to him talk to his clients, and often times handing him the wrong tools. One of her favorite things about being with her dad during those moments was seeing the impact he made on a client’s home and bringing their vision to life. As she got older, she knew she wanted to make that same impact.
At MSU Denver, Avery graduated with a B.A. in Entrepreneurship and an Independent Degree Program Minor in Design & Fabrication. From there, she completed a certificate at Arapahoe Community College in AutoCAD Interior Design. She began her design career at Floor & Décor as Design Supervisor, where she was connected with Sarah and Buttercup Kitchen & Bath.
In her free time, Avery loves to read, go for Sunday walks, build Legos, play games, or have a cozy night in watching Harry Potter. One of her goals in the next year is to finally put on a pair of skis, as a Colorado native, and make it down the mountain.
We’d Love to Hear About Your Home.
